Shot in Iowa City, this film by Iowa native and University of Iowa student

Scott Beck, tells of four lives stuck in the routine of life...and they will

5:45 p.m. "God Hates Fags" Short Student Documentary, (18:50 min. DVD)

God Hates Fags is an introspective look at one of the most infamous and inflammatory church groups in the world--the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas. Led by Minister Fred Phelps, the church travels the globe preaching their belief that God hates "Fags" and that God hates America for "enabling" them.

Where does your money go? This age-old question is imaginatively explored in

this fantasy film. Set in an indeterminate time period, the film follows an

everyman's ATM deposit into the underbelly of a multi-billion dollar

financial institution where minions sort through the transactions in a low

tech sweatshop.

Four gangsters and a table full of weapons. Who will make the dreadful call

What gives your life meaning? This film weaves together interviews, artwork,

and archival footage to explore the meaning of life, and how it relates to a

cellist, a costume shop owner, a taxidermist, and a dance crazed music fan.



8:10 p.m. "Hard Bitten" Honorable Mention - Short Film. (14:00 min. DVD)

A media circus ensues after a dog that may belong to the mayor bites a

pedestrian.

A feature-length collection of the best animated short films from around the

9:15 a.m. "Weapons of Mass Deception" Feature Documentary, (104:00 min.

DVD)


This documentary explores the Bush/Iraq media campaign with media

insider-turned-outsider & former network journalist Danny Schechter.

Schechter investigates the "information dominance" strategies of the

war-makers and the reasons American networks became cheerleaders, helping to

"sell" the war to influence public opinion.



11:00 a.m. "Burning the Bed" Foreign Film, Ireland. (13:00 min. 35mm)

What should a couple do when their relationship is over? Burn their bed.

The focus of this film is on five young Israeli cancer patients and their trip to Florida for a much deserved vacation. Their journey is anything but typical as they attempt to travel back to the childhood they missed.

A young baseball player faces tragic circumstances amidst the Japanese

The world of comic books and reality mesh together in this fast-paced short

about two eccentric stick-up men who hold up a quaint comic book shop. An

This film follow several ultra runners through arduous mountain terrain, without

sleep or hot meals, and with questionable common sense as they attempt to

run 100 miles in 30 hours or less. Are they crazy? You decide.

What do you do when only one person stands between you and your lifelong

dream again and again? Max is always second choice to a producer's nephew

or a more marketable "name". But where talent can't beat the system,

ambition can. Taking matters- and people's lives- into his own hands leads

Sundance winner and Oscar nominated film documenting blind musician Paul
