Friday, August 5th - 2005

Using her natural environment along with re-photographed footage this filmmaker expresses her subjective experience of pending motherhood and her own maternal sexuality.

Five characters whose lives pass in parallel, creatively console themselves of their loneliness.

Filmmaker: Fritz Junker - Comedy  (27:00 min. DVD)
This mercilessly satirical short is Dude Whereıs My Car meets Soilent Green meets Charlton Heston on hallucinogens. Beef jerky will never taste the same. Donıt panic...itıs organic!

As the country embraced him for his vision but rejected him for his expectations, Wallace who lived the American dream ultimately suffered its worst nightmare.

3:05 a.m.  "It's Fairtime! - Portrait of an American Fair"  
Filmmaker: Adam Perri - Documentary, (37:52 min. DVD)
An entertaining glimpse of the many faces, features, and events that make up the rural phenom that is the Iowa State Fair.

3:45 p.m. "Zhilkeletka"  
Filmmaker: Taylor Gentry - Student/EXP/Foreign Language. (15:00 min. DVD)
Inspired the short story ³Quadraturin² this film leaves you to wonder if we sometimes want more than we need.

Using live action and animation this short explores the relationship between religion and sports.

Filmmaker: Michael W. Schock - Student/Experimental Film. (6:00 min. 16mm)
A psychological Expressionist tale of a young man's struggle between his desire for a girl and the force of his oppressive father.

4:36 p.m. "Grand Luncheonette"
Filmmaker: Peter Sillen - Documentary, (4:30 min. DVD)
This film documents the last days of one of 42nd Streetıs unforgettable hot dog counters. Its closing marks the final stage of the much-publicized gentrification of Times Square.

Filmmaker: Chris Metzler - Documentary, (67:00 min. DVD)
Both beautiful and repulsive this documentary takes viewers to the Salton Sea.  
Once known as the Riviera of the West, it is now a fetid, stagnant, salty lake that coughs up dead fish and birds by the thousands. Nonetheless a cast of eccentric locals make this their home and hope their lake can be restored to its former glory.
